vGenii, LLC was founded by Paul Wilson with the vision of becoming a premier provider of virtualization design and architecture. Paul and his highly-trained team of genii (plural of genius) are waiting to help you achieve the highest possible performance from your investment. vGenii resources have expertise in technologies from Citrix, Ivanti, Microsoft, and VMWare. Holding various vendor certifications for all of them. Paul is a current CISSP and is well-versed in security practices.

Paul began at Citrix Systems in 2000 and was assigned to the scalability and performance team (known internally as System II) for Metaframe XP. Paul was instrumental in the development of the best practices for scaling the newly created Independent Management Architecture (IMA) for large farms. Paul's responsibilities centered primarily around database interaction and stress testing. Many of the best practices and secrets for scaling what is known today as XenApp originated from that System II team and the Advanced Concepts Guide, Paul's first major deliverable, which compiled knowledge gained from all the test teams at Citrix.

The next few years provided Paul with the opportunity to join the "Emerging Products Team" which focused on new Citrix technologies such as Provisioning Server, XenServer, EdgeSight, Password Manager (Single Sign-on) and XenDesktop. Paul's knowledge of Password Manager allowed him to become one of the leading experts on Citrix Single Sign-on architecture and application definitions, even traveling the world to help customers achieve maximum performance from their XenApp and XenDesktop Platinum investments.

After two years in the field training Citrix SE's, consultants, and partners, Paul moved into the Worldwide Consulting Solutions organization for Citrix as an architect and was instrumental in the development of XenDesktop architecture best practices. As an architect under WCS, Paul volunteered for a XenDesktop scalability project at Microsoft which seemed to be a good fit for his skill set and interest. That project, which started as XenDesktop 4 on Hyper-V, has lead to several whitepapers and blogs around how to build a large-scale XenDesktop farm and eventually lead Paul to founding vGenii.

Paul was involved in almost every large-farm XenDesktop scalability project that occurred while he was with Citrix and continues to provide guidance when requested. He has had experience scaling XenDesktop on HP, Cisco, Dell, and NetApp hardware and with all three supported hypervisors. Paul has presented best practices guidance and results obtained from the projects at venues such as Citrix Synergy, HP Tech Forum, Microsoft TechEd, and in various webinars. Paul's unique background with Citrix Engineering, Sales, and Consulting has allowed vGenii to become a leader in designing Citrix virtualization environments.
